Pastor Micah Ray
Administrative / Youth Pastor
Pastor Micah called Salem his home church for many years before being hired as the Administrative Pastor in January of 2017. Shortly after that, he took on the additional role of Youth Pastor where he and his wife, Shannon, serve as leaders for The RISE student ministry.
Micah is an author (here) and youth / children's speaker with more than twenty-five years of experience in ministering to families and working with young people.
He has written articles and curricula for Christian publications used in hundreds of churches nationwide, trained workers in national children's conferences, served in various church roles such as Bus and Children's Director, and enjoys leading congregational worship and singing.

Pastor Gerald Thompson
Pastor Emeritus
Pastor Gerald Thompson was the senior pastor of Salem Baptist Church for twenty-five years. Under his leadership, the church grew significantly with an emphasis on soul-winning and the bus ministry. He is an author of two books about heaven: "Heavenly Attitudes" and "Heaven."
Pastor Thompson, now Pastor Emeritus, continues to teach the Lasting Legacy adult Bible class, fill the pulpit as needed, and counsel on a regular basis. His wife, Myrtle, serves faithfully in the Gophers children’s ministry and in the nursery.
